PRODUCTION
Behind our in-house productions and co-productions lies the conviction that art gains in quality when it is accessible to all. It achieves greater complexity and nuance, thereby constantly questioning its social, political and aesthetic functions and contexts.
In-house productions
Our mixed-ability stage productions explore various forms within the worlds of dance and theatre: musical theatre, dance theatre, installations, participatory and immersive formats, and performance. At the heart of our work is always the endeavour to create works of art in which accessibility for people with different disability experiences is built into the aesthetic design. To this end, we utilise the artistic approach known as ‘Aesthetics of Access’.
Co-productions
Our co-productions come about in various ways: Artists or cultural practitioners approach us with their project concepts and we bring them to life together – by further developing the ideas and material of our resident artists with disabilities, by supporting artistic processes with our expertise (such as in Aesthetics of Access), or by bringing artists together, jointly creating new formats and line-ups, and supporting them from the initial idea right through to production, touring and booking (such as our mixed-abled jazz trio, open excess).
