4.0 – An audiovisual installation for Deaf and hearing people
The unique format by musician Désirée Hall in collaboration with Un-Label challenges societal boundaries and creates a special meeting space for Deaf and hearing people within club culture.
About 4.0
4.0 is an inclusive event series where digital art and electronic music come together!
Incorporating the sensory perspectives of Deaf people, digital artists and DJs use real-time visualisations to transform music from house to techno into moving images and fluid structures. These live visuals are projected onto walls, turning the club into an immersive experience space.
Consisting of a three-part series of audiovisual events in Cologne and Frankfurt, this project—developed by musician Désirée Hall—challenges societal boundaries through an artistic and media-based approach. It creates a unique meeting space for Deaf and hearing cultures. Alongside the driving music and deep beats, this results in a completely new experience for a diverse audience.
This project was developed by musician Désirée Hall in collaboration with Un-Label and was awarded the arts and culture prize The Power of the Arts 2023/2024.
