Further training: Collaboration between disabled and non-disabled cultural professionals
On 24 April 2026 online: An introduction to questions of collaboration between disabled and non-disabled team members. The training is aimed at cultural organizations and cultural professionals with and without disabilities who want to reflect on their practices and develop more inclusive working models.
Further training: Sign language in the performing arts
25 September, 2026, at Un-Label Studio Cologne: Create accessible culture with sign language! In this training course with Rafael-Evitan Grombelka and Konstanze Bustian, you will learn how interpreters can be successfully integrated into performative processes, how to reach potential deaf visitors, and what appropriate, respectful communication with them and with deaf artists and colleagues can look like.
Creative Lab “Artistic practice shaped by disabled experience”
7–10 May 2026, at the Academy of Cultural Education in Remscheid. With renowned speakers like Jo Verrent from the outstanding disabled-led arts organization Unlimited (UK), Jodi-Alissa Bickerton and Laura Guthrie from the internationally acclaimed disabled-led theater company GRAEAE (UK), and Dr. Kate Marsh (UK), a disabled dancer, lecturer, and researcher with 20 years of expertise.
MUSIC LAB – Who makes the music?
On 28 February and 1 March 2026, the MUSIK LABOR “Who makes the music?” invites music enthusiasts with and without disabilities, regardless of prior experience or instruments, to take part in two inclusive workshops: the electronic “Electric Kitchen” with the collective SONA, and a community music session with musicians from open excess and the composer Benedikt Fuchs.

There are people who, by their mere presence, make others feel more comfortable. They have a warm, embracing sense of humour and faces that seem made for beautiful smiles. You were such a person.
Current residence: SONA – auditory VR
The inclusive team is working on the auditory virtual reality installation SONA – Explorations in Sonic VR from the perspective of blind people.
Residence: CRIPS Series Writers Room
As part of their residency, the CRIPS series team set up a writers’ room – a creative laboratory where they worked on developing and designing the dramedy series. Jan Kampmann (creative lead) and Leonard Grobien designed the laboratory and invited a fantastic artistic team to join them in shaping the creative process.
