Access Maker – Innovation Hub
With the project “Access Maker – Innovation Hub”, Un-Label is launching a three-year nationwide training and consulting programme to promote inclusion and accessibility in the arts and culture sector from July 2024 onwards.
Key factors for successful inclusive opening processes are representation, communication and continuity.
Project term: July 2024 until June 2027
A team of consultants with different disability perspectives and experts in inclusive cultural work will sensitise and qualify actors in the cultural sector nationwide for our overall social task: the creation of inclusive living conditions.
The advisory services range from free initial consultations to training courses in Cologne and online, creative labs lasting several days, a comprehensive qualification programme for cultural organisations, further training opportunities for disabled mentors and an international symposium. In terms of content, our offers are based on the five pillars of cultural work: programme, staff, audience, PR and partners.
Our parallel programmes in detail:
Initial consultation
From 1 August, we will offer free initial consultations on the topics of inclusion, accessibility, and barrier-free access for cultural organisations, artistic ensembles, and cultural practitioners. Each session, lasting a maximum of one hour, will take place online or via telephone and can be booked online via a calendar from mid-July.
Training programme for cultural organisations
From September 2024 to June 2027, Un-Label will offer each year three to four cultural organisations from all over Germany the opportunity to receive comprehensive training to implement their inclusive opening process. Cultural organisations wishing to apply have the chance to benefit from our wide range of tailored advice, training and intensive support. The objectives are to impart factual knowledge, raise awareness and practical applications in the organisation’s own context.

Project period of the first round (September 2024 to June 2025)
Creative Labs
We are continuing our extremely successful series of Creative Labs and will be offering a Lab lasting several days once a year. This format brings together selected international experts from the inclusive cultural sector with cultural professionals and artists from various disciplines with and without disabilities. We focus on a diverse selection of topics and enable intensive training on the latest developments in disabled arts, artistic and cultural practice, both on a national and international level.
The next Creative Lab will take place from 15 to 18 October 2024 at the Akademie der Kulturellen Bildung in Remscheid.
Programmes and training
From September 2024, we will be offering a wide range of training and further educations to enable cultural professionals to gain comprehensive qualifications in the fields of culture and inclusion. The training courses will take place both in Cologne in our large and accessible seminar space and online. The different formats range from 3-hour programmes to one-day seminars and multi-part training courses.
The aim is to provide an inclusive educational programme that is accessible to all interested parties: from introductory training for beginners to in-depth training for advanced learners.
Qualification programmes for disabled mentors
In addition to trainings, supervision and intervision for its own team of mentors, Un-Label also offers trainings for external disabled mentors from the cultural sector. In these seminars, participants can acquire or deepen their knowledge and skills regarding different perspectives on disabilities, general inclusion, and didactic methods for effective content delivery.
The goal is to further enhance the professionalism of consultants with disabilities in the arts and culture sector and to expand their expertise in inclusive cultural work.
ALL IN Symposium
Since 2016, Un-Label has been organising the internationally renowned ALL IN symposium every two to three years in collaboration with kubia and changing cooperation partners. This symposium has developed into an important platform that brings together cultural professionals with players from the worlds of culture, science and politics.
The next major symposium will take place in winter 2026/2027 to reflect on the results of the three-year pilot project, discuss the current situation of the cultural landscape for disabled artists, cultural professionals and audiences and discuss future needs.
