A first work-in-progress performance of the experimental work of SMouTh’s Combo lab has been presented to a small number of selected guests, on Fri 31st May 2019 in the Mill of Pappas.
The permanent aim of the Combo lab (the creative composition of the performing arts) has met yet another, wider goal: the creation of a performance that is open to every audience and accessible to people with sensory disabilities.
The “Open-handed” performance, part of the European ImPArt project, is the result of the research and experimentation of the Greek ImPArt team on the expressive and aesthetic means and tools of performing arts and media and their creative dialogue with the usual means of intermediation (captioning, sign language interpretation, audio description, etc.), so as to produce an immediate accessible performance without any parallel interventions or interpretations to deprive or distract the viewer from the experience of the artistic work.
At the end of the performance an open discussion took place, offering valuable comments and feedback to the team to continue deepening and developing its work. The comments will be exploited by the creators of the show for its completion, and its final version will be performed to the general public in September 2019.
