Our qualification programme to promote inclusive access in cultural organisations is now entering its third — and for the time being final — round. Apply by 13 April 2026!

Our programme at a glance

From July 2024 to June 2027, Un-Label will offer three to four cultural organisations each year a comprehensive qualification programme supporting the implementation of their inclusive opening and access processes. The programme takes place within the nationwide project Access Maker – Innovation Hub. Cultural organisations wishing to apply will benefit from our broad range of tailored consultancy, training and intensive support.

The programme aims to provide practical knowledge, raise awareness and enable hands-on application within each organisation’s own context.

Our offer addresses different areas of a cultural organisation. To ensure that the transformation process is implemented holistically and sustainably, the programme is structured around the five pillars of cultural work: programme, staff, audiences, communications and partners. As a team of consultants with diverse disability perspectives and experts in inclusive cultural practice, we support participating organisations throughout this process.

Who? When? How often?

Each year, 3–4 cultural organisations from across Germany are selected by the programme team in consultation with the funders.

  • The project period for the third year runs from July 2026 to June 2027.
  • Each organisation participates in at least 8 training sessions (minimum 60 hours), both on site and online, and receives continuous mentoring.
  • A further 16 specialised training options focusing on different disability perspectives are available, from which 2–4 modules can be selected in consultation.
  • Staff members and management are expected to take part in two strategy meetings with the other participating organisations.

A participation contribution of 20% of the training costs must be covered by the organisation itself (equivalent to €4,000), plus travel expenses in accordance with the NRW travel expenses regulations and any necessary accommodation costs.

How does the programme work?

The diagram shows the course of the ‘access:maker’ qualification programme for cultural organisations. The programme comprises at least 60 hours and combines face-to-face modules (4-5), online modules (3-4 + strategy meetings) and continuous mentoring. There are also 2-4 optional modules (online or face-to-face). Focal points: Knowledge transfer, exchange of experience, action competence, inspiration and network building. Symbols illustrate the different modules, while red accents emphasise important information.
