Content
Users of Easy Language are usually not considered in theater productions and are therefore rarely part of cultural events – whether in front of, on, or behind the stage. In this masterclass, an inclusive team led by translator Anne Leichtfuß will teach the basics of Easy Language with a focus on translation and writing for plays. In addition, other areas of a theater production will be examined for their accessibility – depending on the participants’ interests, this may include directing, stage design, dramaturgy, costume, mediation, and much more. Experience in this masterclass how theater in Easy Language, beyond pure translation, reveals the essence of content, opens up new perspectives, and, through clear and direct communication, creates an impressive impact for diverse audiences.
The masterclass is given by an inclusive and intersectional team, consisting of:
-
Anne Leichtfuß (Interpreter and Translator for Easy Language)
-
Natalie Dedreux and Johanna von Schönfeld (Reviewers for Easy Language and authors of the magazine Ohrenkuss)
-
Peri de Bragança (freelance artist and staff member of the Ohrenkuss editorial team)
The masterclass is aimed at theater makers with and without disabilities from various fields and areas of production (e.g. directing, dramaturgy, stage, costume, theater education, PR & communication), at users of Easy Language with an interest in theater, as well as at cultural workers and other interested persons.
