Title of the Masterclass: “Taking Up Balance”
Date: 06/17 and 06/18/2013 (Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Language: The Masterclass will be held in English spoken language and British Sign Language (BSL). Peer-to-peer translation and DGS interpretation will be provided as needed.

The two Candoco dancers will present their current choreographic practices informed by their experiences with deafness and disability. They focus on “framing,” “balance,” “everyday movements,” and “taking space.” What possibilities, what richness and enjoyment lie therein? On this journey of exploration together with you, they open up spaces for a lot of movement and physical exploration.

Candoco Dance Company is the world’s leading inclusive dance company from London, continually expanding perceptions of what dance can be. Anna Seymour is a deaf dancer and performer with experience in interdisciplinary collaboration. Markéta Stránská is a dancer with a different physicality, choreographer and physiotherapist.
