Title Masterclass: „Aesthetics of Access through digital art“

Digital art for the stage offers the opportunity to be both: a new aesthetic experience and barrier-free access for artists and audiences with different perspectives on disability. In this masterclass, Max Schweder will teach tried and tested tools of digital approaches and possibilities to realize “Aesthetics of Access” in a wide variety of stage and installation contexts. Movements are transformed into sounds, sounds into images and smartphone inputs into interactive democratic decisions. For two days, a playful and practice-oriented overview will be created and impulses for the aesthetic possibilities of the artistic coupling of digitality and access will be generated. This masterclass is aimed at artists, dramaturges, directors, set designers, theater and stage technicians, digitalists and is open to all interested parties.
Max Schweder is a musician, performer and digitalist. He works as a creative coder at the digital co-production lab in Dortmund. He studied jazz saxophone and music production at the ArtEZ Conservatorium in Arnhem, the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and is a fellowship alumni of the Academy for Theatre and Digitality Dortmund, the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln and the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp (BEL). He is a founding member of Un-Label and has been exploring the interfaces of digitality, stage and access for 10 years. With his electro duo Cylvester, he plays concerts throughout Germany and implements projects such as the mobile laboratory for urban digital art ALL YOUR BASE. As a media artist, he works with Plex Noire, Maria Basel, Bobby Rausch and Kay Voges, among others.

Contribution towards expenses: 50€ |75€ | 95€ (according to self-assessment) per participant per weekend
