RESIDENCY

Un-Label supports artists in realising their own creative projects. We achieve this through inclusive residencies. Our aim is to support artists with disabilities and to firmly embed the accessibility of professional artistic practice within the cultural scene.

Percussionist Rita Couto Souares, with long, wavy hair and wearing a white nightdress, is playing the drums. The stage is completely dark; she is illuminated only by a red light. To the right is a large drum; to the left, a hanging sheet of metal.

The accessible Un-Label Studio serves as a central hub in the heart of Cologne, bringing together national and international artists with disabilities from a wide range of genres. They receive financial, personnel and production support to bring their ideas to life on site.

Artists with disabilities and their collaborators are given the opportunity to devote themselves to their creative work over extended periods. The focus is on interdisciplinary collaboration and the development of new inclusive approaches and aesthetics. Together with partners from our network, we raise the profile of the artists-in-residence through collaborative projects to support their work.
