Lea Trübenbach
Joy is an act of resistance.
Lea is an interdisciplinary designer working at Un-Label as a working student, primarily in PR and communications, including creating social media formats and maintaining the website. Since autumn 2025, she has been studying in the Master’s program “Integrated Design Research” at the Köln International School of Design (KISD), where she also completed her Bachelor’s degree in 2024. Her focus lies at the intersection of performance, science, and design. In her work, Lea uses experimental research methods that often incorporate graphics, exhibitions, and textiles, foregrounding decolonial, intersectional, and anti-racist perspectives – for example, as a dancer in the project “Resistance Research” at the Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum.
She was shaped in particular by an eight-month internship at Konsthall C in Stockholm, under the artistic direction of Mariam Elnozahy, where she was involved in the conception and realization of exhibitions and learned how curatorial work makes political and social issues visible. Alongside her time in Stockholm, Lea also spent a semester abroad in Bolzano, as well as a year commuting between Cologne and Paris. These international experiences shaped her understanding of art and design and opened her eyes to international cultural work.
Besides her studies and work, Lea sings, writes, sews, dances, or does yoga.
