We did have rather different plans, as you might know: Our new international productions were supposed to premiere in Germany at the Cologne Sommerblut-Festival. All three of them are rethinking and reworking accessibility on stage: Re:construction<\/a>, The Little Prince<\/a> and Gravity (and other attractions)<\/a> use accessibility as an artistic and aesthetic element. Instead of being an add-on, accessibility becomes an enriching, integral part of the artwork in these productions.<\/p>\n

The three new productions are the results of ImPArt<\/a>, our 2.5-year research project questioning and challenging current artistic practice. It is one of the worldwide first projects, that structurally explores the aesthetics of access, makes them usable for artistic innovation and thus creates works of art that can be experienced by all people – regardless of their disabilities. So far more than 350 artists, experts and scientists from seven countries have been involved in this process.<\/p>\n

We reacted spontaneously, but not headlessly to the recent developments and made a new plan: A digital studio talk will offer deep insights into the specific challenges, artistic possibilities, limitations and chances of this new approach. Christof Seeger-Zurm\u00fchlen<\/strong>, Artistic Director and Dramaturg at Schauspielhaus D\u00fcsseldorf<\/strong> and Asphalt Festival<\/strong>, and Lisette Reuter, Un-Label Creative Producer<\/strong>, will discuss the process and the results of this innovative research project. During the talk, videos will give insights into the productions as well the creative process and show statements of the artists involved.<\/p>\n
