The Workshop “Community Music”<\/h2>\n

Immerse yourself in a day full of shared sounds, new encounters, and creative discoveries! Our Community Music Workshop invites people of all ages and musical backgrounds, whether you\u2019re a beginner, a curious hobby musician, or an experienced instrumentalist, with or without a disability to make music together.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

What is Community Music? Quite simply: access to music and music-making for everyone. And the belief that diversity and individual abilities, interests, and backgrounds are important and valuable for making music together. For one day\u2014with plenty of breaks to catch our breath, chat, and settle in\u2014we\u2019ll explore different ways of making music together. The focus is on joy, togetherness, and the courage to try new things. We\u2019ll improvise, listen to one another, develop small musical ideas, and use them to create something together. The workshop is designed to be open, so that everyone can participate regardless of prior experience, age, or musical style. Feel free to bring your own instruments if you have them. Instruments will be available to borrow on-site. No one needs to know how to play or own anything to join in!<\/p>\n

The workshop is aimed at professional and semi-professional artists with and without disabilities working in the performing arts: directors, dramaturgs, performers, actors, dancers, choreographers, musicians, and writers, as well as cultural professionals and anyone interested<\/p>\n

The Un-Label workshop is taking place as part of the Lab for Inclusive Culture (Labor f\u00fcr inklusive Kultur, L.I.K.) project.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Till Menzer<\/strong><\/a>, a dynamic drummer from Cologne, studied jazz at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar and traditional oriental percussion at the IT\u00dc Conservatory in Istanbul. His bands, including das Horst Hansen Trio<\/a>, FL!M<\/a>, and Chanson Trottoir<\/a> , have taken him across Europe. During his Master\u2019s in Hildesheim, he focused on accessibility in music education and professional pathways in music. Till has collaborated with Un-Label on projects such as RoboLAB<\/a> Festival and the mixed-abled jazz trio open excess<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Lucca Keller<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Lucca Keller<\/a> has played piano since age seven and composes his own music. He has collaborated with musicians such as Karolina Strassmeyer, Angelika Niescier, Peter Ehwald, Quadro Nuevo, Bruno M\u00fcller, and Hanno Busch. Professionally a sound engineer at WDR, he also studies jazz piano at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. His trio open excess<\/strong> plays compositions by its three members and regularly invites guest musicians with and without disabilities. Since 2024, he performs regularly with open excess<\/strong> at Cologne\u2019s jazz club King Georg. Lucca is committed to opening stages in the professional music world to inclusivity, as he himself lives with a physical disability. He also plays in the Philipp Kammer Quartet<\/a>, the big band of the Rheinische Musikschule K\u00f6ln (RMS Jazzorchester<\/a>), and occasionally in the inclusive band Vollgas Connected<\/strong><\/a> from F\u00fcrth.<\/p>\n

Benedikt Fuchs<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Benedikt Fuchs<\/a><\/strong> has worked for many years as a freelance musician and composer in the independent theatre scene. He produces and writes music for artists in various genres, composes for audio-visual media, and creates arrangements for strings and other ensembles. As a sound engineer in jazz, he has produced several successful studio albums, including with Markus Stockhausen and Felix Janosa. His compositional style is always distinctive, shaped by his diverse experience. Benedikt has a long-standing artistic collaboration with Un-Label<\/a>. He studied sound and image at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in D\u00fcsseldorf and completed a Master in Music Production and Composition at the Pop Academy Mannheim. His creative workspace is somewhere between Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia on the ICE train or in his Cologne S\u00fcdstadt studio.<\/p>\n
