Un-Label Studio

The Un-Label Studio is one of Germany’s first development spaces for the independent scene with a focus on inclusive and intersectional art and cultural productions. A accessible, 130 square meter, technically well-equipped space offers ideal working conditions for theater, dance and installation rehearsal processes, as well as for seminars and workshops.

The Studio

This venue is ideal for workshops, seminars, rehearsals and productions. The technical equipment meets the requirements for professional working conditions in the fields of dance, theater, sound and installation.

  • 130 m² sprung dance floor

  • Group size: maximum 20 people

  • Large mirror with curtain

  • Various hanging options (gallery rails, rigging)

  • The room can be darkened

  • 1 changing room (door width: 81.5 cm)

  • Well-equipped kitchen in the adjacent room with cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, etc. (door width: 82 cm)

  • 2 bathrooms with WC and shower (one of which accessible through a wheelchair lift; door width: 82 cm each)

  • Spacious garden for breaks and meetings (wheelchair accessible via the storage room; door width from studio to storage room where the lift is located: 77 cm; door width from storage room to garden: 100 cm)

  • Automatic door opener at entrance door
  • 3 dedicated disabled parking spaces directly in front of the entrance

Advanced training in audio description: Fundamentals 2026

Starting March 2026: In this seven-day training course, you will receive a comprehensive introduction to creating classic audio descriptions for theatre. From the needs of blind and visually impaired people to cost and process planning to practical writing and speaking techniques. You will learn about all the building blocks and put them into practice yourself in exercises. By the end, you will be well prepared to develop your own audio description projects.

Deepen your knowledge in a three-day advanced training course: working together as a team and under professional guidance, you will create a complete audio description for a theatre production – from the scripts to the premiere.

Upcoming residency: Dodzi Dougban – Fatherhood

In his research project ‘Fatherhood,’ Dodzi Dougban examines the perspective of deaf Black fathers after separation. Using an intersectional approach, he explores topics such as alienation, racism, and communication barriers, developing initial artistic ideas for a future solo performance combining dance, sign language poetry, and visual vernacular.
